UCSI University is an extensive university situated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. UCSI offers a range of academic disciplines, including pharmacy, medicine, engineering IT, applied sciences business, music, architecture and social sciences, as well as hospitality and creative arts, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
UCSI was established in 1986 through Dato' Peter Ng as an institute for computer-related training located in Petaling Jaya. It later moved its premises to Kuala Lumpur to cater to the increasing number of students and to ensure that more academic courses were introduced. UCSI was granted college status in the year 1990 through The Ministry of Education (Malaysia) and was granted status as a university college in 2003, and full-fledged university status in 2008. It was Malaysia's second university that is private. It was previously was known as Sedaya.
