University of Southern Denmark (SDU) Introduction
The University of Southern Denmark is a public institution located within Southern Denmark and Zealand. The university was established around 1998.Since then the university has gone from growing to a higher level. SDU currently has five faculties and around 32,000 students, with more than 15 percent of them are from outside the country. The university offers a variety of co-curricular courses along with University of Kiel and University of Flensburg. The connections between the university and local industries as well as the global scientific community is solid. This university ranks as the third-largest and is the third oldest Danish university in Denmark.

The University of Southern Denmark was founded in 1998 when the University of Odense, the Southern Denmark Business school and Engineering, and the South Jutland University Center merged to become the University of Southern Denmark.

Student Service
In the sphere of academic administration, Student Services is responsible for several vital responsibilities such as counseling, admissions, foreign students, and both students and the Executive board.
The Head of Studies oversees Student Services, which is backed up by its staff unit. They are in charge of student services as well as personnel administration, the economics, the physical environment, and procurement.
Housing Service
The campus house in Odense, Denmark, opened 250 student units in 2015. Houses 1 and 2 have flats available for both renters, and the rent is reasonable. All of the units are completely furnished and have private balconies and en-suite bathrooms. Each level has a spacious kitchen and each group of apartments has a living room. Campus House, Odense supports both solitude and community in this way.
Kolding does not have any dorms. Rather, the Housing Office has made arrangements with private homeowners who have many single rooms with common kitchens and baths. The city center, train and bus stations, and the university are all within walking distance of student housing.
Library Service
The campus library administers the lending of books and periodicals from all of the University of Southern Denmark's holdings, as well as from its own. Requests for items from other library in the nation and overseas are also handled by the library.
Medical Service
When you register in your municipality's Citizen Registration Process at the Citizen Service Department, you will be given a CPR number. Once you have enrolled with the Citizen Registration Process, you will receive your health card in about 2 weeks. You can use the health care services available to all Danish citizens if you have a CPR number and a health card.

Campus Life
There are around 30,000 students and 4,000 workers at the University of Southern Denmark. Odense, Esbjerg, Kölding, Copenhagen, Schlagels, and Snderborg are among the university's six campuses, all of which are focused on teaching and research.
Sports Facilities
Among European countries, Denmark has the most sports facilities per capita. So, whether you're a student at one of our five campuses or not, you'll be able to participate in a variety of sports and social events. In our Odense complex, you'll also discover a fitness facility and a swimming pool.
Student Club
Participating in activities to develop is an important part of Danish culture, and SDU Odense provides an excellent atmosphere for student unions with almost 22,500 students in one area. If you look through the notice boards with Gydehutten, you'll find a variety of communities of interest in which you can participate.

The school also supports continuing education and offers various degrees that are taught in English including American studies as well as European studies. Recently there have been new courses, such as Mechatronics Engineering Journalism program, Journalism program along with the Information Science program have been added. The focus of the university is Biotechnology, Communication and Information Technology. It houses its own Danish Institute of Advanced Study (DIAS) that assists world-renowned researchers come together in a multi-disciplinary research center that promotes inquiry in fundamental and basic research. The Danish IAS is a place that encourages and supports inquiry-driven research in the field of Humanities and Sciences and brings the world up to date with revolutionary ideas.
University of Southern Denmark (SDU) Scholarship
The university grants the Danish Government-sponsored scholarship, which is authorised from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science to those who are eligible. The scholarship consists of two components which are a grant and a full tuition fee waiver helping students cover costs of living that amount up to DKK three thousand per month, without taxation. The award will be made to the highest-qualified of the candidates who are eligible.
