King George's Medical University History
The King George V, then the Prince of Wales was the Prince of Wales at the time, and laid the foundation stone for King George's Medical School in 1906. The College was officially opened in 1911, but the formal opening ceremony was postponed until January 1912. The College was subordinate to the supervision of the Government of the United Provinces and awards were made by Allahabad University. In 1921 the College was moved from Lucknow University.In 2002, the Government of Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Mayawati from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) granted university status to the college, and renamed it Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (CSMMU) under the Uttar Pradesh Chhatrapati Shahuji Medical University Act 2002. In August 2003, Mulayam Singh Yadav from the Samajwadi Party (SP) replaced Mayawati and became the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh. A month later in October 2003 it was announced that the university became King George's Medical University (KGMU) as per the Uttar Pradesh Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (Second Amendment) Act of 2003.
Name-changing continued. In 2007, when the BSP was elected to in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election and Mayawati was elected to the office The name of the university changed to CSMMU. After the control was passed to SP during the 2012 elections, Akhilesh Yadav's government returned the name of the University to the present "King George Medical University".
Similar changes took place for Dental faculty. The faculty was created at the beginning of 1949 and was a separate section within the ENT department. It was elevated to an independent department in the year 1950. The department moved into an additional building in 1952. The university was established in 2002 the dental department was transformed into it's Dental College, a constituent college of the university. The following year as a result of the Uttar Pradesh King George's University of Dental Science Act, 2004 it was decided that the Dental College was raised to the statutorily-assigned status of a university, which was named"the "U.P. King George's University of Dental Science". However, in 2007, the state government reversed this decision, and the U.P. King George's University of Dental Science changed to the Faculty of Dental Sciences, like it was before the time of the creation of the University

Library This library serves as the heart of student life on campus. King George Medical University houses an expansive library that is filled with more than 35075 books in 2690 book banks, as well as hundreds of journals, CDs and reports. The KGMU library comprises two libraries: a Central Library & separate Department Libraries for faculty members and students alike to have an easy access to their study and reference materials by using the use of a membership card.

Hostel Facilities Hostel Facilities: The University offers separate accommodation for girls and boys. At present, there are 12 hostel blocks that house more than 1,000 students. The hostels are comprised of the principal office, security room as well as a guest house.

Medical Aid: On the campus is the Student's Health Care Centre. The Medical Superintendent is full-time and a team of highly qualified competent doctors who remain at the health centre.

Caféteria King George Medical University has a canteen that holds more than 200 seats, in a relaxed atmosphere with tea, coffee and a variety of snacks are served. In addition, the cafeteria serves vegetarian and non-veg meals for their staff and students.

King George’s Medical University Placements 2021
King George’s Medical University (KGMU) placement report is yet to be released for the academic year 2020-2021. Earlier, according to the NIRF report, the median salary packages offered to the UG (5-year) and PG (2-year) students in the academic year 2019-2020 were INR 9 LPA and INR 8.5 LPA, respectively.
Further, a total of 130 students were placed out of 291 students during KGM University UG (5-year) placements 2020. KGMU has a dedicated placement cell that not only offers job opportunities but also provides career guidance training to students. King George’s Medical University Courses and Fees 2022
King George’s Medical University offers 17 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate and doctoral-level in medicine, health sciences, and nursing domain. Admission to MBBS and BDS in KGMU is only through NEET. There are 250 seats for MBBS and 70 for BDS through NEET UP. Admission to MD and MS are based on NEET PG for 85% of the seats and the All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination conducted by DGHS, New Delhi for 15% of seats.
