Banasthali Vidyapith History

Banasthali Vidyapith was founded on 6 October 1935 by freedom activists and educationalists Hiralal Shastri and Ratan Shastri. The university was officially declared an official university at the time of 1983. While NAAC has re-accredited Banasthali Vidyapith at the top possible Grade A level in 2011, the Review Committee (Tandon Committee) of the Ministry of HRD also appreciated the work by Vidyapith in the fields of Governance and Institutional achievements, research, student Progress, Infrastructure, etc. and placed Banasthali Vidyapith under 'Category A-List of Institutions Deemed to be Universities in the year 2010. The institution is listed in NIRF and QS I Gauge as well as Times Higher Education rankings. in 2020 NAAC recognized this school with an Agrade of ++.

The Vidyapith has enjoyed a degree of autonomy over its school programs from the beginning and was also affiliated with an outside agency to run its university programs in 1983. In 1983, the Indian government India upon recommendation from University Grants Commission notified the Vidyapith as an institute deemed to be a university.

When it was granted the status of university, The Vidyapith restructured its undergraduate curriculum. For postgraduate students, it added classes on Computer Science, Operational Research, Electronics and Biotechnology. The Teacher Education and Management programs have been introduced. The new courses include M.Sc. (Bioinformatics), M.Sc. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and M.Sc. (Applied Microbiology).

Alongside professional programs including MBA and MCA and MCA, all postgraduate programmes within the Faculty of Science have a semester-based system. Since 2004, all social Science Humanities, Home, and Science postgraduate courses are now semester courses.

Banasthali Vidyapith Campus

The campus covers area of 850 acres. It is located approximately 80 kilometers away from Jaipur, the capital of Jaipur located within the Tonk district in Rajasthan, India. The campus is divided into three divisions: the school division, the division of the University and residential blocks. The residential blocks have 29 hostels that can accommodate up to 438 students.

The Laxmi Bai maidan(field) that measures approximately 2660 sq. km. is used to host annual fairs and parades while the Vidula maidan (4195 sq. km. approx.) includes fields for sports including volleyball, hockey tennis, tennis martial arts, large-scale physical displays. It also has a Veer Bala Maidan utilized for horse riding. is home to the Shakuntlam playing field is the main cricket field on the campus. The campus also has an outdoor swimming pool.

The campus also includes an airstrip with a license of 50,191,418 square. meters, that is used to teach students to fly and guide.

Banasthali Vidyapith also has its own hospital, Apaji Arogya Mandir, a guest house for parents as well as guests of the official, as well as an independent radio station known as Radio Banasthali
