Informally, the University of Delhi (DU) is a collegiate central university that is located in New Delhi, India. It was established in 1922 through an Act of Central Legislative Assembly. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognized it as an Institute of Eminence. It is a collegiate university. The university's main functions are split between its academic departments and the constituent colleges. The University of Delhi was founded in 1899 with three colleges and two faculties. It has grown to be India's largest higher education institution and one of the most important in the world. It has 16 faculties and over 86 departments on its North and South campuses. It is home to 77 colleges and five other institutions. As the university chancellor, the Vice President of India is responsible.
Delhi University Campus
The University of Delhi has 91 colleges that are affiliated with it. They are spread throughout Delhi. The university has two main campuses, North Campus and South Campus. Zakir Husain Delhi College is located in central Delhi. It is the oldest college in Delhi with 300 years of history.
North Campus
The three founding colleges are located on the North Campus. The North Campus now houses the School of Open Learning and the Faculty of Arts. It also has 13 colleges, including Kirori Mal College. Centres for graduate studies and research are also located on the campus, including the Cluster Innovation Center at Delhi School of Economics, Delhi School of Journalism, and the Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research.
South Campus
As part of the university's expansion plan, the South Campus was established in 1973. It covers 69 acres and was moved to its current location on Benito Juarez Marg near Dhaula Kuan in 1984. Its colleges include Acharya Narada Dev College and Aryabhatta College.

Delhi University (DU) Admissions 2022
DU offers UG and PG courses in various disciplines. Each degree program has its own admissions process. Admission to DU UG courses will be made through the Central University Common Entrance Test or Delhi University Common Entrance Test. Prospective candidates are invited to apply online by DU before the end of May. The declaration of 10+2 exam results by CBSE coincides with the start of the application process at DU for UG courses. DU will release a cutoff score to separate colleges and courses after the application process has been completed. Candidates must take the DUJAT entrance test to be admitted to the BBM and BBS courses.
Delhi University Entrance Exam (DUJAT) will be used to admit DU students to PG and PhD courses. Candidates may be required to take a personal interview by their respective departments in order to be selected for final selection. Placement at Delhi University (DU).
The Delhi University Central Placement Cell (CPC), conducts seminars and mock tests, expert talks, workshops, mock exams, expert talks, and conferences to help students get placed. CPC registrations will provide placement assistance, counselling, and support for self/social entrepreneurship.
Every year, the cell organizes internship fairs, placement drives, corporate fest, and other innovative events to facilitate communication between students and corporate world. The cell hosts interviews with top-notch companies and visits the colleges. CPC of Delhi University places around 1000 students each year, but only 138 students were placed for the 2020-21 batch due to the pandemic. The highest number of students who were placed by CPC of Delhi University in the 2021 placement drive was Shaheed Sukhdev College.
Delhi University (DU), Cutoff
After the application process for UG courses is completed, DU releases its cut-off list. The minimum number of students required to be admitted in a course or college's program is called the cut off. The University will announce subsequent cut-off lists until all available seats in affiliated colleges are filled.

The entrance exam for PG courses is administered by the respective departments at DU. The PG entrance exam is usually held at the DU North campus.
