In the 1920s, the large and complicated duties of reviving the national economy needed highly skilled employees across all industries. As a result, on December 10, 1920, Minsk Polytechnic School was changed into Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute, a higher technical educational institution.

BNT University History

On the foundation of a Minsk Polytechnic school, the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1920.Renamed Belarusian State Institute of Agriculture in 1922. Horki Institute of Land Amelioration and Minsk Institutions of Peat, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Food Industry were combined to form Belarusian Polytechnic Institute in 1933. Belarusian State Polytechnic Academy was founded in 1991. In 1997, the Belarusian educational system designated it as a premier engineering educational institution.Belarusian National Technical University, founded in 2002.
