Bangor University

Formerly known as The University College of North Wales, Bangor University is a state-owned university founded in 1884.. In Wales during the nineteenth century, a movement for the provision of higher education led to the establishment of the university. The local population, on a voluntary basis including quarrymen and farmers made contributions to the establishment of the university. The university was established in 1911. principal building of the university was opened in addition to several social and arts science structures. When it was granted the power to award degrees in 1911, the university began awarding degrees under the name it is now in 2009.

Housing Facilities at Bangor University

Although the majority of students will be offered accommodation in two student villages, Ffriddoedd and St Mary's The university has a postgraduate residence hall situated at College Road and called Neuadd Garth. The housing options available at the campus are in suites and include the campus gym for residents and Life membership.

St Mary's Village-

  • The hotel has approximately 600 rooms. They offer various accommodation options, including budget rooms, en-suite rooms, five townhouses, and studio apartments.
  • The village is home to a regular hall, The Bryn Eithin, which has shared bathrooms as well as kitchens.
  • The village is home to approximately 300 bedrooms with en-suites and 30 studios in 5 different residence halls referred to by the names of Cemlyn, Cybi, Penmon Ffordd Tudno En-suite Rooms and Studios along with St Mary's Quad.
  • The village is home to cafes, laundry facilities and common room as well as fitness centers.

Ffriddoedd Village-

  • The hotel is home to around 2,000 rooms, and most of them are with a bathroom.
  • It is a regular hall Neuadd Reichel, comprising 120 rooms that share bathrooms and kitchens.
  • It's around a 10 minute stroll from the building of the university.
  • This facility has nine suites that have shared kitchens for eight students. The cost is higher than the other set of five residence halls that share kitchens with 8 students. How, When, and Where to Apply

Application Portal: Candidates may apply for admission to Bangor University by filling the online application form, or via UCAS (Universities and College Admission Services).

Deadline: Admissions are accepted by the university all through the year, however students should apply before at the close of June for intake in September or at the final day of October for the January intake.

What happens when you receive admission?

If they are accepted for admission, students be issued a Confirmation that they have received Acceptance of Study (CAS) through the payment of a deposit of 2000 GBP. Students will require CAS to submit a visa application in order to be eligible to pursue their studies within the UK.
