In 1964 in 1964, the University of Waikato is a public institution that provides research and higher education located in New Zealand. It was established as Hamilton Teachers' College as part of the 1956 petition and the institution was awarded the status of university in 1964. The college is affiliated with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
In Hamilton The main campus covers an area of 158 acres. It has labs, administrative offices and classrooms, libraries and residences as well as recreational facilities. The campus also has an additional campus located in Tauranga. Its library facility University consists of three libraries on the campus. They house more than 1 million volumes of printed books and more than 275,000 electronic resources that aid in research, teaching and learning.
