Goldsmiths, University of London History
For nearly 200 years, students have been learning at the Goldsmith site. The Goldsmiths Worship Company took over the Royal Naval School (on the location of the original Counter Hill Academy) and reopened it as The Goldsmiths Company's Technical & Recreational Institute in 1891, giving the university its name. For nearly a century, Goldsmith has been a member of the University of London.

Goldsmiths offers a comprehensive range of student support services to help you through your time at university, from the moment you arrive until you graduate and beyond.
This includes services such as student counselling, financial help, housing and lodging, a specialized career service, and more.

Amersham Vale Medical Centre has teamed with Goldsmiths to provide medical services at Goldsmiths students. They are about a five-minute drive from the university. It offers a comprehensive range of services, including mental health, travel health, and immunizations (including meningitis, measles, mumps and rubella).

Campus Life
Because Goldsmiths is a single-site school, you will be able to complete all of your coursework in one location and will have many opportunities to thoroughly engage yourself inside the Goldsmiths community.
From the recently built Professor Stuart Hall Building to the welcoming and majestic Richard Hoggart Building, the campus offers an eclectic blend of diverse structures and design. There are places to dine, study, and make friends on campus. There is a student union store and a large library for all of your research needs during your study.
Sports Facilities
Tennis courts are available for students to use on campus and may be reserved (as well as a tennis society). There is also a big open space known as College Green, which is a great place to meet new people while also being utilized by sports organizations for practise.
Goldsmith's Sports Club uses the Loring Sports Grounds and other local facilities for activities and events when they are not on campus. Badminton, cheering, football, taekwondo, bouldering, meditation, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and other sports groups are available.
The Goldsmiths also compete in the University sports league and the British University College Sport.
Student Club
As part of the student union, Goldsmiths offers a variety of clubs and societies to join. On campus, the student group has its own facility, which houses a café and bar and is a wonderful location to meet new people. Chess groups, dancing organizations, debate organizations, Film Society, Korean Cultural Society, and Photography Society are just a few examples of clubs and societies that may vary from year to year. SU arranges social activities and events for you to engage in on a regular basis, and there is an active student community for you to join.
