The University of Waterloo (also known as Waterloo, UW, or UWaterloo) is a public research university in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is located on 404 hectares (998 acres) of land in "Uptown" Waterloo and Waterloo Park. The university also has three satellite campuses and four university colleges connected with it. Six faculties and thirteen faculty-based schools conduct academic programmes at the university. With over 20,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the university's co-op programme, Waterloo has the world's largest post-secondary co-operative education programme. Waterloo is a member of Canada's U15, a network of research-intensive universities.

The main campus of the university is 404 hectares in the city of Waterloo, Ontario.

Waterloo Park, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Laurel Creek Conservation Area form the campus's boundaries. The main campus is conveniently accessible by public transportation, with three numbered highways intersecting it.

The majority of the institute's teaching facilities are located on a ring road in its southern section. While the majority of the campus buildings are new, there are others that evoke nostalgia and date back to the nineteenth century.
