It is the University of Canberra (UC) is a research-based university that is public that has its primary campus within Bruce, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. The campus is located within walking distance from Westfield Belconnen, and 8.7 kilometers (5.4 miles) of Canberra's Civic Centre. UC offers postgraduate and undergraduate courses that span the five faculties of Health, Art and Design, Business, Government and Law and Education, as well as Science and Technology.


The campus is one situated within the suburban area of Bruce which encompasses more than 290 acres of roads, buildings as well as access roads. There are 28 buildings, all dedicated to a specific area of education or faculty. A majority of the buildings are located around the main area. Each building is identified by a number, and some do not have any name or title. Students are instructed in their orientation session that the structures aren't numbered according to a specific order, but the structures around the concourse are gradually being numbered counter-clockwise beginning with building 1. It is believed that the numbers refer to the date each building was constructed however, a master plan was devised to have the structures around the concourse designated in this manner.


The academic program at the University encompasses diverse subjects , which are classified into five faculties, which include Arts & Design, Business, Government & Law, Health, Education and Science & Technology. There are also several research centres and institutes on campus, such as The Institute for Applied Ecology, Research Institute for Sport & Exercise, Centre Therapeutic Solutions, Centre for Creative & Cultural Research, NEXUS Research Centre, News & Media Research Centre as well as The Invasive animals Collaboration Research Centre. These centers allow students to visit the facilities and get to know more about research and fieldwork, and practical experience under the supervision of highly experienced faculty members and other specialists of the research centers. There are approximately one-third of the student on campus.
