Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo

The Federal University of Sao Paulo (Portuguese: Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo, UNIFESP) is a school in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Up until in 2005 UNIFESP had been exclusively for Health Sciences, but after 2005, the school became multisubject as a result of the Brazilian federal government's University Reform Program (REUNI). The university now has six campuses, including the most ancient in Vila Clementino, located in Sao Paulo (Health) as well as four additional campuses located in Guarulhos (Humanities region), Diadema (Science, Engineering and related), Santos (Health Marine Sciences, Health), Sao Jose dos Campos (Computational and Engineering fields) and Osasco (Business and related). A new campus is being planned for Santo Amaro, a district of (Sao Paulo).

Despite recent growth, UNIFESP is considered one of the most prestigious institutions in Brazil, and is a magnet for students from all across Brazil as well as neighboring countries.

The headquarters of the university are in Vila Clementino in Sao Paulo. Through the years, the school has grown dramatically by acquiring hundreds of buildings in the Vila Clementino region. These comprise those at the Sao Paulo Hospital, the largest hospital in Brazil. Graduate students get work experiences in this bustling and comprehensive medical facility. The hospital also offers healthcare services to those who are less fortunate.

In 2005, the school expanded beyond Sao Paulo, establishing campuses in Santos, Diadema, Guarulhos, Sao Jose dos Campos and Osasco. A number of these campuses offer classes in academic areas that aren't part of the traditional medical field of UNIFESP like economics, philosophy, history, and philosophy.

This expansion has brought in new thematics and groups of theory with a common and effective method - which ensures the longevity of its historic role in health in serving the public interest through encouraging the actions that are part of the tripod at the University (teaching research, teaching in addition to extension). In addition, the process of internationalization, breakthrough results of their research, and the transformational impact of their extension programs prove the achievement of the Unifesp mission. The rapid and explosive transformations that have occurred in the last decade constitute an outstanding opportunity for Unifesp to maintain its distinctiveness and its science excellence mantra to be a facilitator of social involvement. Therefore, it's up the scientific community in the nation to develop better theoretical structures that are capable of tackling hybrid issues in a coherent and multi-dimensional method. The promotion of convergent approaches is considered to be the most effective approach to address the current occurrences and also to enable institutions dedicated to the development of knowledge in science to be linked to the public.

The generalization of studying complex problems with a combination of articulated lenses enables better analysis and better results, providing opportunities for the reimagining of research and teaching methods. The renewal of the institution can be seen as something Unifesp has been working on for a while, with radical changes to its structure and in accordance with the specific purpose that is part of their Institutional Development Plans. The most fundamental element of this shift in the way we think and conduct research in Brazil is a continuous connection to the world's technological advancements in all knowledge fields. Scientific advances in Brazil require a deliberate and mature international engagement in the areas of discovery in science as well as to break new ground and assert leadership on the international stage.
