George Washington University is a private research institution that was established in 1821. It is affiliated to NAICU, CUWMA, SURA and ORAU. In the past, the school was named The Columbian University and in 1904 it changed its name to the present designation, George Washington University. The university houses several most renowned research institutes and research centers which include The Centre for Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology, GW Cancer institute, Biostatistics Centre, Regulatory Studies Centre, Centre for Aging along with the Institute for MEMS & VLSI Technology.
