ETH Zurich (English: ETH; Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich; German: Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zurich) is an institution of research and education that is located situated in Zurich, Switzerland. Established with the help of the Swiss Federal Government in 1854 with the intention to train scientists and engineers, The school is focused predominantly on engineering, science, technology and mathematics. Like the sister schools EPFL and EPFL, it is an affiliate of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology Domain and is which is part of the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, the Education Department, and Research. In the 2022 edition of the QS World University Rankings, ETH Zurich was ranked 8th globally, which placed it in the top four European university, following that of the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London. In the 2021 edition of QS World University Rankings by subject, it was ranked 4th worldwide in technologies and engineering (2nd among Europe) and first for marine and earth sciences. Student services

The Student Services (StS) unit manages all the activities and services offered to prospective and current students in the interplay with Swiss secondary school and ETH Zurich. The goal is to assist students who are about to enroll in their preferred course of study and make them aware of the realities of the program they've chosen and making the first phase of their studies less stressful. StS offers students advice about funding their studies, searching for accommodation, traveling towards Switzerland and other concerns in relation to Zurich as a city to study.

Housing services

All employees and students of the University of ETH Zurich can use the services offered by the Housing Office free of charge. Anyone, even non-members of the two universities, can advertise the accommodation they have available for rent free of charge. You can advertise apartments, rooms, or homes that are located in Zurich and the surrounding areas. The accommodations can be furnished or not and is available for a short period or for a long time. Further information and accommodation advertisements are available through the site. The complete details of advertisements are available only to registered users who have identified themselves as UZH/ETH members while registering an account on the site.

Library services

About a dozen libraries provide the members of ETH Zurich with literature and services that are useful for study and education. ETH Library is ETH Zurich's central library at the university.
