It is the American University in Dubai (AUD)is an institution of private, non-sectarian, and non-sectarian, of higher learning located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates which was established in the year 1995. AUD is recognized regionally as a separate entity from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. AUD is a service for UAE students and nationals from across the globe and provides them with an American-style educational experience.
AUD is regionally accredited with the UAE Ministry of Education and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States. The history of the foundation and its development
After 1991's Gulf War in 1991, the team of Elias Bou Saab from the American Intercontinental University (AIU) visited the Persian Gulf to establish relationships with various ministers of higher education and the schools of the region.
The absence of high-quality educational facilities for students of private at level of universities as well as the growing acceptance for an American system of education inspired them to do a feasibility study about the possibility of establishing the first American University within the Persian Gulf.
